The Quantum DTL barrels are available in Black Nitride or cryogenically treated finishes.
We have identified several benefits of cryogenically hardened barrels as documented by material science and our own testing. Specifically:

In cryogenically hardened barrels, dimensional changes appear to be more uniform in both axial and radial directions compared to non-cryogenically hardened barrels;
- The cryogenic process produces a more uniform and coherent barrel harmonic that generates a more sinusoidal action;
- Cryogenic hardening refines the grain structure, which leads to a smoother surface and may result in easier cleaning and increased muzzle velocity.
